About the Item
A refined Finnish mid-century chandelier by Sievä Oy, featuring two opaline glass shades mounted on a sculptural brass frame. The curved arms and coiled brass details give the piece a sense of rhythm and craftsmanship typical of postwar Finnish design. The glass diffusers emit a warm, even light that softens the metallic structure beneath.
Produced in Finland in the 1950s, this lamp represents the era’s transition from decorative Art Deco influences toward the more functional, organic forms of Scandinavian modernism. Sievä Oy was among the Finnish lighting manufacturers that helped define domestic modern lighting.
