About the Item

This stunning Mid-Century Modern pendant in the manner of Fontana Arte in Italy, circa 1960. It features a cylindrical body with a contracting conical top threaded with chain that connects to a circular canopy- all in lustrous chrome. Three arms extend from the cylindrical body at a perpendicular angle where they meet two demilune bifurcated shades in handblown Amber Murano glass that are separated in their center offering a dramatic slit of negative space. The lamps are secured with exposed chrome brackets that offer a geometric counterpoint to the rounded edges of the shades. Full of verve and élan, this pendant embodies the qualities that discerning collectors adore about first rate Italian Mid Century Modern design. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. The chandelier accommodates seven candelabra based bulbs offering up to 420 watts of light. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition.Height can be adjusted to suit. Italy, circa 1970 Dimensions: 10" Diameter x 23.5" height Body only: 13".
