About the Item

Designed by Alberto Dona 'in 1998, this chandelier is one of the most particular he has ever made. The main subject is not glass, as happens in most chandeliers, but it is the imposing brass-plated frame, with a geometric shape. The hexagonal shape of the chandelier, in fact, will give a touch of modernity to the room. It is embellished with Murano glass crystal plates in which the twelve-light are reflected, creating majestic reflections of light. The structure of the chandelier reaches 33 cm which becomes 60 cm considering the hook. However, the chandelier has considerable dimensions, it has a diameter of 100cm. It is called a "flying saucer" due to its unusual shape that resembles a flying saucer. Imagine it in a spacious room above a dining table. Surely it will only make the atmosphere elegant, modern and comfortable! The price of the item includes professional and tailored packing. Alberto Donà Alberto Dona’ was born in Italy in 1944. He began working in the glass field at age 13. He worked with many masters and had opportunity to travel abroad to Venezuela to work with glass. His foremost influence was the maestro “Nane” Ferro, who was known in Murano during the 1960s as one of the best masters. In the early 1970s, Dona opened his own furnace. He became known for his skill with colors and his ability to invent unique color combinations. Most characteristic, however, is the large size that Dona is able to achieve with his shapes. These qualities have attracted companies from Venini to Reflex to Saporiti, who have depended on Dona for glass accessories. By the end of the 1980s Dona’s talent also attracted many artists with whom the collaborated. Dona’s glass vessels have been included in various group shows. In October 2001 he had a one-man show at the Vassel Art Gallery in London. Also he was selected to furnish the lighting for the Hiroshima Memorial Museum.
