About the Item

Mid-Century Modern German Space Age Chrome and Glass Pendant Lamp from Peill Putzler, 1960s Impressive glass pendant lamp from renowned manufacturer Peill Putzler. The design features an organic form language. The symmetrical shape evokes associations with a life form. The large glass shade is hood-shaped and features indentations and protrusions in the form of softly curved slats on the underside. The glass has transparent and satin-finished surfaces that react differently to light. The top is transparent and reveals the inner workings of the lamp. The ornamentation on the underside is satin-finished and reflects white light. It serves as both a diffuser and a reflector, and also highlights the complex details of the shape. The socket element is chrome-plated. The chrome surface curves inward like a funnel and ends with the socket. The reflective surface intensifies the light and multiplies the structures inside. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina.
