About the Item
Lovely Cocoon lamp from the 1960s. Very impressive. Very nice condition. Socket e27. Dimmable.
This 1960s hanging light was designed by Ernest Igl and produced by Hillebrand Lights in Germany. The light shade construction is made of solid metal in black lacquer tone finish, in the middle the light has a satin glass shades where the metal shade hangs on. the shade has hole pattern design which looks really fantastic when the light is illuminated. The light features 1 light socket for e27 bulbs. The light still remains in a good vintage condition with slight traces of use, age related patina on the metal parts.
Adjustable hanging height from 35cm to 95cm.
Fully functional. Works with 220V and 110V. Wiring is suitable for all countries.

Ernest Igl
Ernest Igl graduated from the Karlsbad Commercial Academy in 1938 and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich. After the war, he worked as a draftsman and graphic artist in Munich. Igl enjoyed a high reputation as one of the first illustrators at major school book publishers and distinguished himself as an internationally sought-after industrial designer. He died in Davos in 2001.
