About the Item

This delicately handcrafted mid-century Murano light fixture is adorned with beautiful leaves in the style of Barovier Toso. The glasshouses on the island of Murano, like Barovier Toso, are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. The glass is tinged with a subtle green. The hues of green vary between the glass leaves, resulting in a more natural effect. The center rod is chrome metal covered by the twisted glass rod. The bowl is made of netted glass, from which the ten acanthus leaves protrude. The top chrome canopy has two small holes for screwing into the electrical box. However, if additional length is required, three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. In this case, an additional canopy and chain, not included, would be required. This piece demonstrates a delicate design, reminiscent of a shimmering fountain or plant centerpiece. The textured crystalline glass enchants the illusion of glistening water, elevating any interior with a touch of natural beauty. H=23 in. W=21 in. D=21 in. three base lights. 8 lbs.

Glassblown, no part is identical; parts are numbered to fit corresponding slots on the base. Leaf marked "six" displays two small chips and a faint crack at the stem s top, yet remains intact.
