About the Item
This wooden ceiling lamp, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson in the 1960s, is a rare and extraordinary example of mid-century craftsmanship. Its round form, unusual for ceiling lamps of this era, is composed entirely of wood. The lamp features elegantly curved, extremely thin wooden lamellae, bent in a circular fashion, giving it a delicate and refined appearance.
A unique feature for its time: the lamellae are adjustable, allowing you to slide and reposition them to alter the lamp’s width, thereby customizing the light diffusion to suit your space. Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
