About the Item
This handcrafted Cristallo Murano chandelier has five undulating scroll arms and features a bulbous center column with sprouting natural details, stylized here with daffodils and leaves. The arms terminate in shallow petal-trimmed cups that resemble candle drip trays. The body and arms of this piece are made of clear, colorless glass. The piece has further detailing of scroll stems, twirling leaf ends, and rigaree trim; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The glasshouses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. This elegant chandelier showcases a mastery of glass craftsmanship. This mid-century chandelier is a pared-down interpretation of the ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style of chandeliers created by Giuseppe Briati in the 18th century. The ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style is named for the Venetian palace, today a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice, where Briati’s initial masterpiece resides.
This chandelier evokes the splendor of the past centuries through delicate decorations, refined craftsmanship, and an elegant structure. The cristallo glass creates a warm atmosphere when illuminated and would be a lovely addition to any diving room, living room, or entryway.

- Condition:Rewired: Rewired to US electrical standards, it takes five base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred length. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Wear consistent with age and use. Small chip on the exterior base of one of the arms under the socket. Finial has a chip on the very top, but once the chandelier is assembled it can t be seen. All 5 exterior leaves have small flea bite chips on the sides. To ship, it is disassembled.
