About the Item

A rare and impressive gilded bronze chandelier of exceptional quality, crafted in France between 1880 and 1930. The heavy solid-bronze structure, rich gold patina and original opaline glass shades reflect the level of craftsmanship associated with château interiors and prestigious commissioned work from the period. This monumental chandelier is an outstanding example of the French Neo-Baroque style, produced between 1880 and 1930 when elaborate bronze lighting became a symbol of aristocratic interiors, private estates and grand reception rooms. Made entirely of solid bronze with a deep gilded finish, the piece displays highly refined sculptural work, from its acanthus leaf motifs to the architectural scrolls that form its structure. Weighing approximately 35 kilograms (77 pounds), the chandelier has the presence and solidity characteristic of boutique bronze foundries that supplied custom lighting for palaces and distinguished townhouses. Its proportions, 68 centimeters in diameter and 85 centimeters in height, give it a strong but elegant silhouette, ideal for formal foyers, staircases, salons or high-end residential projects. The six original opaline glass shades produce a warm and atmospheric light. Each fitting uses a standard E27 socket, making the chandelier compatible with LED and modern bulbs. Suitable for 110–240V installations.
