About the Item
Pair of Antique 1780 Genoese Empire Chandeliers in Crystal, also colored, authentic, finely carved in gilded wood, original and perfectly restored and re-electrified. This unique pair of 18th-century Italian eight-light chandeliers is decorated with polychrome crystal drops and pendants at the top only. Thus we find red, blue, green, as well as amber and pink crystal drops. The eight curved double scroll arms are made of wrought iron, and the central shaft is made of carved and gilded wood with naturalistic motifs and stylized leaves, all ornamented with strings of pearls and beveled crystal pendants.
These rare chandeliers are made with a central shaft of carved wood, carved with plant motifs, turned and gilded in fine gold; this central support, composed of several elements, is decorated with elements in hand riveted iron, joined by a multitude of festoons of transparent crystals, with a few colored crystals, surmounted by crystal flowers with brass upper corolla, original details that, together with the splendid gilding, emphasize the taste and timeless elegance of these chandeliers salon, from the late 18th century.
The eight arms branching off from the lower wooden element, are made of curved iron, terminating in iron bobeiges, originally the chandelier was lit with candles.
They come from a private villa in Emilia and are in good condition, consistent with their 18th-century date; re-elected work with eight E14 bulbs each.
The pair of antique chandeliers is shipped from Italy, by current Italian law, every antique item must have a government export license, called Belle Arti. The time frame for the application and issuance of this license is required 2/3 weeks to add to shipping time.
