About the Item
A pair of modern ceiling lamps / flush mounts, model 971-504, designed by Klaus Michalik and produced by Orno in the 1980s. Compact in scale, these lamps are well suited for hallways, smaller spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, or even used as wall lights.
The lamps are in good vintage condition and both carry the Orno label with the model number. We also have another pair available with slightly smaller glass shades, listed separately.
Like Lisa Johansson-Papé, Klaus Michalik began his career at Orno after working as a furniture designer for Stockmann / Keravan Puusepäntehdas. He is best known for his Bau series, inspired by Bauhaus principles of clarity and function — a language clearly present in these lamps that belong to this series.
