A large and spectacular pair of French Louis XVI-style rock crystal and bronze chandeliers. Each chandelier is structured with a central gilt bronze frame composed of scrolling branches, arranged in tiers to support multiple candle-form lights. The frames are adorned with suspended rock crystal pendants in various shapes, including large pear-shaped drops, faceted prisms, and pointed obelisks. The rock crystal displays natural internal fissures and inclusions, characteristic of hand-cut material. Circular rosette medallions and smaller faceted beads connect the drops to the framework, providing layered decoration throughout.
The design follows the Louis XVI style with symmetrical arms extending outward to support drip pans and candle sleeves. Each chandelier features an arrangement of twelve lights, evenly distributed around the bronze structure. The lights are set on raised candle cups with gilt bronze bobeches, from which additional crystal drops are hung. The arms curve gracefully, terminating in scrolls accented with crystal rosettes.
