About the Item
- A beautiful set of extra large satin opaline ceiling pendants with original galleries, England circa 1910.
- Silky satin finish to the huge opaline glass shades, typical of the manufacture seen in the early parts of the twentieth century, wonderful bell shaped brass galleries with the most wonderful age and wear throughout. - Rewired with dark brown braided flex and PAT tested.
- Finials can be added to the glass upon request.
Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance.
