About the Item

Origin Italy, circa 1958 Materials Aluminum and glass Dimensions 9.8 in x 9.8 in x 78.7 in (25 cm x 25 cm x 200 cm) Availability Stocked in NYC, domestic shipping available Condition Good vintage condition, rewired A rare and striking example of mid-century Italian lighting, this Model 2095 pendant light was designed by Gino Sarfatti in 1958 for Arteluce, the pioneering lighting company he founded. Sarfatti is celebrated for redefining the relationship between art and industrial design, and this work epitomizes his visionary ethos. The fixture features six hand-blown glass globes, each fitted with its original aluminum diffuser and suspended at varying heights from a single canopy. The result is a poetic vertical composition of glowing orbs that appear to float in space. The interplay of transparent glass and polished aluminum creates a refined balance of lightness and structure, showcasing Sarfatti’s mastery of modernist materials. Emitting a soft, diffused glow, the pendant lends itself perfectly to dramatic stairwells, entryways, or dining spaces where height and rhythm are emphasized. Both sculptural and functional, Model 2095 remains one of Sarfatti’s most collectible designs—an enduring icon of postwar Italian lighting. Fully rewired and presented in good vintage condition.
