About the Item
French Art Deco Chandelier by Pierre Gilles, Paris 1920s — Molded Glass
Nickel-Plated Bronze.
An exquisite example of French Art Deco lighting from the 1920s, this chandelier by Pierre Gilles (27 rue Esquirol, Paris 13e) features thick, molded glass shades suspended from its original nickel-plated bronze fixture. The result is a striking balance of sculptural solidity and luminous elegance — a hallmark of 1920s Parisian design. The chandelier measures 30.3″ (77 cm) in height with an overall diameter of 19.7″ (50 cm), making it ideal for a medium-sized room, hallway, or dining area.
Each glass shade is signed “Gilles” (molded) and the bronze frame bears the “PG” stamp, attesting to the authenticity of the piece. Some natural age-related patina appears on the bronze, and there are a few small chips on the rim of the central shade — typical where glass meets metal over decades. These minor wear marks are completely hidden by the frame when installed. Delivered fully rewired for your destination (US, UK, EU, AU, China, etc.), and compatible with modern LED bulbs for effortless, energy-efficient illumination.
Why This Chandelier Stands Out
Authentic, signed 1920s piece by respected Parisian atelier.
Unusually thick pressed glass shades — rare for its era and maker.
Original nickel-plated bronze frame retains its patina, adding antique character.
Versatile and practical: rewired for modern use and LED ready.
Perfect centerpiece for interiors focused on Art Deco, vintage Paris, or classic European style.
In good vintage condition given its age. The metalwork shows a fine, even patina. The glass shades remain strong and intact, with only minimal chipping on the central rim (not visible once framed). Professionally rewired for safe use per current electrical standards, globally adaptable (US/UK/EU/AU, etc.).
