About the Item
Combining the understated yet elegant shape of an upside-down funnel with a lighthouse lens-like cage on the bottom, along with perforations on the polished brass, clearly showcases why Hans-Agne Jakobsson is considered one of the most influential light designers of his time.
Celebrated for his soft, non-glaring and warm light designs, Jakobsson designed this light in the 1960s for his own lighting company Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden. The canopy still shows the original manufacturer's paper label on the inside. We have seen it described as model T598 but cannot confirm this 100%. Other designs manufactured by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB starting with T5 do indeed have the same sticker.
This pendant light is currently wired for European 220V and is in good vintage condition with some signs of its age, like patina and light scratches. The wiring can be easily replaced for the American 110V market.
This Scandinavian Modern light fixture will make a great focal point in most living spaces!

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
