About the Item

Exceptionally rare and completely original PH height-adjustable 3.5/2.5 pendant lamp from the 1930s, an outstanding early example of Poul Henningsen’s pioneering lighting design. This lamp features its original hoist mechanism, allowing the height to be easily adjusted, a highly sought-after and increasingly hard-to-find detail from this period. The fixture retains its full set of original matte yellow glass shades, which produce a warm, soft, and glare-free light characteristic of PH’s revolutionary three-shade system. The glass shows gentle, age-appropriate wear consistent with nearly a century of use, further underscoring its authenticity and untouched condition. All components—including the shades, metal fittings, suspension, and counterweight—are original to the lamp, making this an exceptional collector’s piece. A museum-quality example that works equally well as a functional light source and a sculptural centerpiece, ideal for discerning collectors of early Scandinavian modern design. A rare opportunity to acquire an entirely original, height-adjustable PH lamp from the golden era of Danish lighting history.
