About the Item
This rare and highly collectible “Bug Eye” pendant lamp was produced by Belgian brand Massive in the 1970s and is a striking example of Space Age European lighting design. Its large red plexiglass globe is punctuated by four smoked convex portholes, creating a bold visual effect that resembles an insect’s compound eyes — the source of its evocative nickname.
The lamp offers sculptural beauty even when unlit, and a warm, ambient glow when illuminated. It features an E27 socket and a long suspension cord, making it ideal for high ceilings or statement lighting installations. The piece is made from durable plastic and is in excellent vintage condition with light signs of age. A fantastic addition to any retro, modernist, or eclectic interior.
