Rare Surrealist “High Heel Shoe” Tôle Chandelier, 5-Light, France, ca. 1950s
Rare and unusual mid-century French tôle chandelier with surrealist flair: each arm is shaped like a woman’s high-heeled shoe, complete with stylized floral bobeches and decorative cut-out details. A sculptural ribbon-and-bow stem crowns the piece, giving it a poetic yet playful character.
The naturally worn grey paint and light oxidation enhance the authentic patina that collectors and designers appreciate. Chandeliers in this whimsical form are extremely rare, making this a true conversation piece—ideal for eclectic, shabby chic, Hollywood Regency, or surrealist-inspired interiors.
