About the Item

“Boudoir du Collectionneur” chandelier in gilt bronze with cascading pendants and beads, exhibited in the boudoir of the Hôtel du Collectionneur. Stamped 'Ruhlmann'. Provenance: Galerie Patrick Fourtin, Private Collection, Paris. Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was a French furniture designer and interior decorator and one of the most important and influential figures of the Art Deco movement, even considered by some the godfather of French Art Deco. His designs are characterized through elegance and purity of form, made with precious materials and expert craftsmanship, combining luxuriousness with modernity.
