About the Item
- A wonderful set of two tone church opaline ceiling pendants, England circa 1920.
- Wear commensurate with age, heavy two tone opaline in a beautiful condition, some very light marks across the glass and around the small ventilation holes underneath.
- The empire-style copper galleries have aged to the most wonderful deep colour, rare to have the original fasteners which lock the glass into place.
- Rewired with dark brown braided flex and PAT tested.
- Height 43cm, Width 30cm, Depth 30cm.

Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance.
