Excellent condition and shape opaline glass chandelier.
This incredibly stylish, early 20th-century Jefferson glass pendant light is a fine example of American interior lighting from the Arts
Crafts period,
is in excellent condition and it is an absolute joy to look at, both on and off. The fixture features a substantial opal glass bowl with softly defined vertical fluting, producing a warm and even glow when illuminated.
The shade is suspended by its original three-chain brass mount, complete with hand-formed hooks and a finely detailed brass rim decorated with a subtle geometric cross-hatch pattern. The metal retains a deep, naturally aged patina that has not been polished or altered.
Dating from approximately 1910–1930, the lamp remains in very good original condition. The glass is intact, free from cracks or outside chips, and the hardware is complete and structurally sound. Any electrical updates have been carried out sympathetically and do not detract from the period character.
A well-proportioned and visually balanced pendant, equally suitable for a hallway, stairwell, kitchen, or dining space. It is an honest, original piece with the quiet presence and quality that only early lighting fixtures possess.
To us, this small American classical pendant can only go to one country. We don't know how this very rare Jefferson pendant made its way to Europe, but we think it should again grace the hallway or landing of a turn-of-the-century-home in the USA. The timeless design and the combination of the brass and the stunning glass shade is a match made in the light fixture heavens. This striking little pendant is rewired for safe and immediate usage the world over.
