About the Item

This stunning mid century pendant was realized in Sweden circa 1960. A conical brushed aluminum shade- split into two segments- hangs suspended. The break in the the two parts of the cone is covered by a band- a ribbon like band in black enamel that traces near the belly of form. The break elegantly allows light to hit the inside of the black enamel band elegantly illuminating it from within. The pendant attaches to circular canopy, via black cord which relates to the black band in the works center providing visual cohesion. Suggestive of Bauhaus design through the prism of Swedish mid century modern, this piece is as versatile as it is refined. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to Contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. Sweden, circa 1960 Measure: Height with wire: 32" (can be adjusted to suit).
