Wonderful and mint condition glass shade, Midcentury chandelier signed by Alfredo Barbini.
If you are looking for a rare and stylish mid-20th century fixture to grace your home then this handcrafted Italian light could be perfect. One person might see an upside down vortex of liquid glass in this shade, another may see it as a giant glass halo with a perfect rim. What this means to us, is that the designer has created a work of (glass) art that is both beautiful to look at and it also makes you think about its shape and its, possibly, deeper meaning. The shade is executed in Murano white and clear glass with speckles and it comes with chrome plated hardware. We believe the speckles were also chosen, because they emphasize the striking design of this single light pendant.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
