About the Item
Transcendence 2 by Ango is a sculptural pendant light handcrafted in Thailand using a breakthrough composite of mulberry tree bark fibre and recycled fishing net. First unveiled at Maison&Objet Paris in 2023, this poetic lighting piece evokes the form of a luminous cloud—making it an ideal centrepiece above a dining table or open living space.
In 2025, Transcendence 2 was curated by Elizabeth Leriche for Living Matter at Maison et Objet, Hong Kong, highlighting the design’s strong conceptual and artisanal language.
Delicate flux lines and irregular wave patterns form the diffuser, created from Ango’s proprietary plant-based composite. Infused with a soft white pigmentation and formed by hand, the diaphanous shell gently modulates the glow of the twin LED filament bulbs within. The result is a layered lightscape of organic softness and radiant warmth.
Extremely lightweight and durable, Transcendence 2 reflects Ango’s ongoing commitment to fusing advanced natural materials with slow, sculptural design.

Transcendence 1 is a sophisticated pendant light first launched at Maison et Objet, Paris in January 2023. Flux lines of luminescence that have been created in a new composite Material developed by Ango are formed into a diaphanous cloud realised with light.
