About the Item
Tudor style wrought iron chandelier by Ferro Art (also known as Ferroarte), Spain, 1940s. Made entirely of wrought iron worked by hand using techniques such as hammering, welding and forging, with hree torch-shaped lights, and finished in gold leaf.
This type of lamps were very common in the decades of the 40s and 50s, where the Castilian style in Spain regained strength, in the same way that the Tudor Revival style did in areas of Europe such as the United Kingdom.
Hollywood Regency, Mid Century and Brutalist style. Very much in the style also of the French creations of Maison Jansen and Maison Charles, and the Spanish creations of Ferrocolor.
For 3 E14 bulbs. New wiring, with its original brass and ceramic lampholders. LED compatible. Wear on the metal due to the passage of time and use. A chain can be added to increase the lenght.

This spanish early 20th century torchere chandelier features a central iron ring which is decorated with flower details. There are eight torch lights set about the perimeter of the central ring placed in two heights. The ring has a frosted glass diffuser and two additional lights. The main ring is connected to an smaller ring hanging from 4 chains. It holds from a chain with a canopy on the top.
Its magnificent hand-hammered work, its original gold leaf gildind and a nice aged patina mark the difference.
