About the Item

VALMASSOI CONTI L'AMO CEILING LAMP BY LUCI, ITALY 1970 A rare Iconic vintage Italian design L’ Amo floor lamp by Valmassoi Conti production time 1970 to 1979. Painted metal, stamped, steel, bamboo stem. The "Valmassoi Conti" pendant lamp for Luci Italy is known as the "L'Amo" ceiling lamp, a striking example of radical Italian design from 1970. The name "L'Amo" translates to "The Hook" or "The Love" in Italian, referencing its unique design inspired by a fishing rod. The lamp features a black-painted central point that supports a long, bendable arm made from carbon fiber (like a fishing rod telescope), allowing the user to adjust the angle and position of the shade. The diffuser is typically made of chrome-plated, die-cut metal, which creates a distinct light effect when illuminated. The electrical wiring is subtly managed by metal rings, further reinforcing the fishing rod concept. The lamp is in original conditions with a patina from the time and minor signs of use. the long flexible rod was white painted by the previous owner probably to make the rod shine again after decades, at the moment the paint got old as well and lost its shiny look but it can be removed easily or kept like this make this light with a great character anyway .
