About the Item
Mid-century Capiz Shell Pendant Lamp made in Italy in the 1960s.
It is made of translucent discs of Placuna placenta shells, which are appreciated for their pearly appearance.
Mother-of-pearl shell panels, each of which is carved from a separate natural shell and enclosed in a thin metal mesh.
Capiz shells have traditionally been used as a substitute for glass due to their durability and transparency.
Very good vintage condition. Electrical cables have been renewed to professional electrician.
