About the Item

We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Particular and original vintage chandelier, handcrafted in a laboratory in upper Italy between 1960 and 1963; it has a massive and elaborate structure in brushed and polished nickel-plated metal, finish much used in that period; the rest of the chandelier consists of rectangular plates of half-crystal, cut and ground, arranged to build an unusual and innovative shape; unlike crystal, the glass from which the half-crystal is produced does not contain lead; the half-crystal is facetted by machine and then put in an electric furnace to make the edges of the faces less sharp, then hot-polished or fire-polished to give it a bright and shiny finish with an ice effect; the half-crystal is native to Bohemia and after 200 years the half-crystals of the Czech Republic are still considered the most valuable. the illuminating part is very powerful, in fact, it consists of 12-light points masked by crystal plates, with this system the strong light passes through the crystals and radiates powerfully in a thousand fantastic and sparkling rays, allowing excellent and original lighting of the environment; the chandelier, with its simple and clean design, is ideal to decorate and illuminate in a refined and brilliant way any room in the house, an elegant and modern furnishing object. The chandelier is complete with all the crystals and is in good condition, however, some crystals have slight chipping on the edges (see photo), but these defects are only on the inside, so absolutely invisible from the outside. Attention: The electrical system is of the period with European wiring so it has to be overhauled or replaced. Measures: Diameter cm. 45, height cm. 125. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
