About the Item

The STACKED cylindrical bell-shaped Illuminated Sculpture shown here is made of salvaged Maple. All hanging illuminated sculptures are hand-built custom per your specifications. Larger or smaller, used individually or as a grouping, a different profile or a different wood, they are customizable. They are hand-built with tiny blocks of wood; each block being carefully placed to create the desired shape. Once built, the exterior is gently sculpted smooth using a variety of hand tools achieving a polished surface with subtle undulations similar to that of hand-built ceramics. The interior of the shade is left unshaped and is flash gilded with a pearlescent mica powder that accentuates the terraced contours. The salvaged wood offers one-of-a-kind patterns brought to life by Richard’s unique STACKing process, achieving a quality akin to basketry or mosaic tile work; the overall shape, quantity, and scale of Richard’s STACKED pieces are customizable upon request. Each Illuminated Hanging Sculpture is suspended from its canopy plate with a black cotton covered cord and hosts a standard medium E26 base, utilizing an Edison-style LED lightbulb UL listed components. Additionally, Richard can custom design a new form or shape, tailoring it to perfectly compliment your space and needs, be it a floor lamp, wall mounted, or hanging. Customizations may incur additional costs. Please note, this listing includes one single hanging sculpture.
