About the Item

These small-sized STACKED Illuminated Ostrich Sculpture shown here are made of salvaged Ebonized Ash. All illuminated sculptures are hand-built custom per your specifications. Larger or smaller, used individually or as a grouping, a different profile or a different wood, they are customizable. They are hand-built with tiny individual blocks of wood; each block being carefully placed to create the desired shape. Once built, the exterior is gently sculpted smooth using a variety of hand tools achieving a polished surface with subtle undulations similar to that of hand-built ceramics. The interior of the sculpture is left unshaped and flash gilded with a gold mica powder that accentuates its terraced contours. The salvaged wood offers one-of-a-kind patterns brought to life by Richard’s unique STACKing process, achieving a quality akin to basketry or mosaic tile work; the overall shape, quantity, and scale of Richard’s STACKED pieces are customizable upon request. Each illuminated sculpture is suspended from its canopy plate with a black cotton covered cord and hosts a standard phenolic E12 candelabra base. For use with compatible LED lightbulbs. UL listed components. Additionally, Richard can custom design a new form or shape, tailoring it to perfectly compliment your space and needs, be it a floor lamp, wall mounted, or hanging. Customizations may incur additional costs. Please note, this listing includes one single sculpture.
