About the Item
This is another beautiful pair of handcrafted lampshades by the renowned lighting manufacturer Maison Charles et Fils in Saint Denis Paris.
Handmade but casting the internal gimble fitting and the top and base ring in solid Bronze and then crafting the lampshade from two sheets or brass which has hand folded seems and welded to the top and bottom ring.
The shade is then finished in Polished Nickel to the inside and Matt Nickel to the outside of the metal shade before the base gimble is attached in this case by 2 Bronze screws that have been hand turned on a lathe and Nickel Plated.
The lamps shade was originally designed by Laurent Charles for their stunning Quasar and Venturi table lamps but can be used on any lamp or wall sconce with an E27 bulb holder - we are able to supply convertor rings to be used with E14 lamp holders also
Please note that the shade are very slightly imperfectly round having been slightly damaged in shipping from France to the UK, but otherwise in immaculate condition.
This is reflected in the price listed compared to having them made to order from Maison Charles, which today would be in excess of eighteen hundred euros each shade!
Andrew Kornat launched Maison Charles in the UK over 20 years ago to the interior design trade and was their exclusive distributor for many years, he know the collection inside and out - so please do ask any questions
