About the Item
Only a few pieces of the vertical "Ponte" floor lamp were manufactured, both in black and white marble, with vertical steel supports and the usual lexan adjustable sphere with a 50W-12V light.
The sphere can be easily adjusted along the two vertical chromed bars and the light can be rotated by 360° on its axis. We can change the transformer, to comply with US standards (UL transformer). The Lamp has a push button switch, operated from the wire.
The ARDITI group (Trassinelli, Mazzoni, Gamberini and others) transformed the concept of light by making it sculptural by itself and not through a particular shape, thus anticipating by 40 years the concept that is now the fundament of LED and OLED light design.
Sormani, with their Nucleo division, carried out this transformation by manufacturing a whole series of lamps and accessories of different, innovative materials such as marble, travertine, lexan, perspex, steel and various innovative plastic compounds. A revolutionary time indeed for Italy in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
This lamp can stand out in any environment: entrance, living-room, bedroom, hallway.
The lamp comes with a certificate of origin on the manufacturer's original letterhead.
