About the Item
An iconic 1970s Mid-Century Modern Italian Mezzaluna (half-moon) extendable floor lamp by Bruno Gecchelin for Skipper, Italy. A minimalist masterpiece surprisingly packed with features and versatility.
This stunning example features off-white original enamel lamp head that swivels 360 degrees on both it's horizontal and vertical axes. The elegant accent line on the straight edge is a sliding dimmer switch.
The chrome stem has a telescopic extension feature allowing the lamp to be adjusted anywhere on the spectrum from a minimum height of 5'9" in (179cm) to a maximum height of 7'4" in (224cm) fully extended with half-moon up.
Perhaps most unique of all, the base of the lamp is an exquisite slab of Fior di Bosco (flowers of the forest) Carrara Marble. Highly figured with bouquets of beige and gray punctuated with stunning streaks of white and black veining. The base is flat and circular with diameter of 12 in (33cm). It is circa 1 in (3cm) thick, pencil rounded, and polished to a satin.
