About the Item
An elegant and authentic floor lamp dating to the late Colonial period (circa 1920), likely originating from the former Dutch East Indies. The base is hand-turned from solid teak wood, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and sculptural quality characteristic of early Art Deco design - stylish, elegant and romantic.
The shade is a later, custom-made addition, tailored specifically for this lamp. Crafted from soft cream-colored fabric, it features a pleated, parasol-like form trimmed with wooden beads and tassels. Together, the combination of rich teak and delicate textile creates a warm, atmospheric glow - both nostalgic and timeless.
The piece has been rewired and has a convenient foot switch.
Suitable for use worldwide with appropriate plug adapter.
The custom made lampshade depicted is included. The lamp will be crated for shipment.
