About the Item

Bill Curry Style floor lamp by Laurel Company Circa 1960s Bill Curry Style Floor Lamps in a chrome finish with white frosted mushroom shade. The Stemlite (1962) was the first ‘total look’ lamp, a pioneering new typology conceived by American Designer Bill Curry, which replaced the traditional base-plus-shade form with a single self-contained unit comprising interchangeable modules. His debut design, the much-emulated Stemlite, was named “most influential lamp of the year” by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965, used on the set of the original Star Trek TV series, and remained in production until 1977. Dimensions: 57 H x 12 Diameter Super fun atomic light in chrome and acrylic. This light gives off an amazing warm glow when turned on. It is like having a moon on a stick in your house. Turns on with a simple twist of the knob. Chrome legs are in very good to excellent condition for age as is the acrylic globe. This light is extremely architectural and will add interest to any room. It can work well in a Hollywood Regency,Art Deco or traditional home or a more Danish modern or post-modern space.
