Rare “Aloa Nucleo” floor lamp designed by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, Italy, circa 1971. Produced under Sormani’s Nucleo division, this lamp exemplifies early 1970s Italian experimental lighting design. Its sculptural form features a tall, cylindrical body with clean, minimal lines and a balanced silhouette, combining elegance with a strong modernist presence. Constructed from chromed metal and high-quality polystyrene/plastic components, it retains its original finish and is in good vintage condition. Claudio Salocchi
Born in Milan 1934, graduated in Architecture at the Milan Politecnico University. He has been Vice-President of ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale), and has taught at the State Professional Institute of Furniture and Furnishings in Lissone and the School of Architecture of Milan Polytechnic. On an international level, Salocchi’s work covers the fields of architecture, interior and industrial design. A great deal of his works and projects were chosen and exhibited through selections or invitations at the most important exhibitions, events or museums, worldwide.
