About the Item
This sculptural chandelier by Treviso-based artist Davide Moretto is a unique piece (one of a kind) that fuses Venetian tradition with contemporary design.
Nuvola — Italian for “cloud” — is handcrafted from a corten steel structure and antique yellow Murano glass cylinders dating back to the early 1900s. The composition integrates a continuous LED light strip that diffuses a warm, amber glow, revealing the delicate imperfections and texture of the century-old glass.
Each glass element was mouth-blown in the historic furnaces of Murano, embodying the timeless mastery of Venetian glassmaking. The oxidized steel structure contrasts with the luminous fragility of the glass, creating a powerful dialogue between solidity and transparency, memory and light.
Moretto’s work recalls the experimental materiality of Gaetano Pesce and the sculptural warmth of Giuseppe Rivadossi, while rooted in the poetic spirit of the Venetian Lagoon.
A striking work that bridges past and present, Nuvola transforms reclaimed Venetian materials into a luminous sculpture — where craftsmanship, time, and light converge.

Davide Moretto
Davide Moretto is an artist-designer whose work sits at the intersection of art, design, and craftsmanship.
