About the Item

Striking 1980s floor lamp in the style of Memphis Milano. It features a bold architectural stem in white and a circular frosted glass disk, lit from behind by a hidden bulb, which creates a sunset effect when lit. The light softly glows through the translucent glass, creating an atmospheric halo effect. The contrast between sharp angles and soft light is typical of postmodern design. The Memphis movement, founded in 1981 by Ettore Sottsass, challenged the idea that design had to be functional above all. Lamps like this one became expressive objects—more sculpture than light source.
