'HELGA' floor lamp has a solid wood base and a shaped plywood top, lacquered in white satin paint. One E27 light socket. FANTASTIC!
Paolo Portoghesi designed the house 'Casa Papanice' in Rome in 1966; it was finished in 1969. Several pieces of furniture and lighting were designed at the same time to complement the new building, including the 'Helga' floor lamp (1967). It beautifully reflects the futuristic shapes used in the Casa Papanice and was placed in the living area of the building.
