About the Item

Iconic floor lamp Model number: L 68 (5892), Hagenauer workshop, Vienna, 1951; its functional principle was first presented at the Milan Triennale in 1951. A very rare and important piece of modernism in excellent original condition. The system of brass tubes, which allows movement in any direction, was patented by Karl Hagenauer in 1951. This is a unique piece: a special two-arm version that was not commercially available. Reduced construction, cast base, brass tube, two black, perforated metal shades, mount also made of brass, painted white inside, pivotable into any number of positions and height-adjustable thanks to three joints on each arm. Literature: MAK, Vienna, Collection: Hagenauer Archive, Inventory number: HAF 13-1.
