French Modern Floor Lamp in Resin and Wicker, France, 1972
A sculptural light that seems to breathe.
Handcrafted in France in the early 1970s, this modern floor lamp in resin and wicker transforms raw materials into atmosphere. Its cylindrical body and wide crown are built from fine vertical wicker strips, bound and sealed in translucent resin — a technique that gives the piece both texture and luminosity.
When lit, the lamp emanates a deep amber glow, filtering through the organic grid like sunlight through woven fibers. The result is both primitive and architectural: a totem of light that bridges nature and modernity.
Its quiet geometry and tactile warmth place it within the lineage of French organic modern design, echoing the sensibility of Georges Pelletier, Pierre Chareau, and other artisans who saw light as matter — something to sculpt, not just to contain.
