A sculptural and sophisticated floor lamp designed by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier, circa 1950s–1960s. This piece exemplifies Thurston’s ability to blend minimalist industrial lines with playful, decorative "atomic" motifs. Features a slender black-enameled steel stem punctuated by two distinctive wire "cages" or orbit spheres, accented with solid brass spheres. Painted metal, polished brass, and typically finished with a linen or parchment drum shade. A heavy, weighted circular base provides stability for the slender silhouette.
