About the Item
Large and beautifully sculptured, floor lamp.
If you are looking for unique and decorative antiques to bring joy and class to your interior then this marvelous, sculptural floor lamp could be perfect for you. Finding an antique and all hand-carved floor lamp of a Renaissance Revival guard holding a lantern is truly special, but for him to be 'under the influence' makes this piece extra special. Clearly off-balance and with his eyes shut from too much of his favourite beverage all that can save him at this point is his friend, the lamppost. With the tip of his halberd and both lanterns being hand-forged of copper, it is highly likely that more than one artisan created this rare antique. The uniqueness of the design and the quality of the make, but also its perfect patina make this sculptural floor lamp an absolute joy to own and look at. Both with the lights switched on and off, this one of a kind, tipsy watchman floor lamp will light up both your days and evenings.
This sculptural floor lamp is rewired for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and when purchased by an American client, we will also attach an American power plug so that it can be used and enjoyed upon arrival. If you like this wonderful floor lamp as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days are complimentary.

By Matthijs Horrix
Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning black forest entrance furniture.
Imagine coming home to this work of art after a tough day at the office. This 19th century work of art will make you feel right back home. In order to understand and enjoy this kind of beauty, you have to see it. You have to see the design that was beforehand, see the craftsman that gave his all, see the natural and beautiful materials he used, see the detail of his work and see what inspired him to make this artistic piece. Once you see it in that way, you will truly love this antique and you will appreciate it for it's unmistakeble quality, beauty and for what it radiates. Pictures may say more than a thousand words, but standing next to and using this antique is what really makes the difference
Although it is not marked, we are certain that this eyecatcher is made by Horrix of the Hague. They were the true and internationally respected Dutch makers of top quality Black Forest style masterpieces. This coat rack is no exception.
The beautifully carved walnut branches covered with leafs seem to have naturally grown over the oval mirror in the middle. The mirror, by the way, is purposely covered in soap so there are no reflections that could distract. The base section comes with the original iron, barley twisted ring looking like rope. This ring obviously serves as the umbrella holder above the removable zinc drip pan. This stand is also perfect for holding walking sticks or even rifles. The rim around the zinc pan is again beautifully carved in the shape of a woven basket. Finally, the top section around the central mirror comes with a total of 8 practical and perfectly carved hangers...

Artistic Arts and Crafts Wrought Iron Standard Floor Lamp, signed L. Van Boeckel
By Louis Van Boeckel
Located in Lisse, NL
Rare Louis Van Boeckel wrought iron floor lamp or Oil Lamp.
This magnificently handcrafted Art Nouveau lamp was originally made as an oil lamp. At some point in time oil lamps went out of fashion and that is when this oil lamp was transformed into an electrical lamp. On top you can still see the rimb on which the oil reservoir would have rested.
Obviously what makes this work of art so beautiful is the design and the incredible details and the natural shape of the leaves, the flowers etc. This is the work of a true artist and you will enjoy it every time you see and use it. Comes with embossed stamp ‘LVANBOECKEL’.
Mind you, our fair price even includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door within 4 days.
Height: 66 inches .
Louis Van Boeckel (1857-1944) of Lier, Belgium, was one of the most important ornamental blacksmiths of his time. He was an apprentice to the Verwilt factory in Lier, but developed most of his skills as an artisan by himself. His work, including some of his important animal depictions, can be found in the Timmermanns-Opsomer-Haus Museum in Lier.
Van Boeckel’s numerous awards included the gold medal at the Exposition du Cercle Rubens (1890), le Prix de l’Art appliqué à la rue, Brussels (1893) and the Grande Médaille d’Or and title of Chevalier de l’ordre Royal du Cambodge at the Exposition Universelle in Paris (1900). He is also responsible for work on the grid of the city hall of Lier after 1890, the grave decorations for Czar Alexander III in St. Petersburg and Queen Marie-Henriette in Laeken, the staircases of honor of the Khedive Palace in Cairo and Benedictine monastery on Mount Olive...
