About the Item
Italian Modern Opaline Glass Zea Floor Lamp by Salocchi for Lumenform, 1970s
This piece is a highly sought-after vintage floor lamp from the Italian Space Age design period. It was designed by the acclaimed Italian architect and designer Claudio Salocchi and manufactured by Lumenform in Italy, typically attributed to the 1970s, though some sources specify the design year as 1968.
Iconic Design: The "Zea" lamp is an iconic example of Italian Mid-Century Modern design, known for its bold, sculptural, and minimalist form.
Modular Form: It is composed of stacked, interlocking, modular elements of hand-blown opaline Murano glass, giving it a unique, organic yet structured appearance. The number of modules varies (2 to 6 units), making each version a distinct piece.
Ambient Light: The opaline glass diffuses light beautifully, providing a warm, soft, and decorative glow that enhances the ambiance of any room.
Due to its age and specific manufacturing (hand-blown glass from a specific period), these lamps are considered very rare and decorative
I have add colored bulbs to give a more groovy aspect.
the lamp can be used in the USA, but some modifications are required.
Voltage: This vintage lamp was originally wired for the European electrical system (220-240V). American outlets provide 110-120V.
Plug
Bulbs: You will need to change the European plug to an American one and use 220V bulbs compatible with the lamp's sockets, or have the lamp professionally rewired for US voltage. Alternatively, a voltage converter can be used, but rewiring is often a more permanent and cleaner solution for vintage pieces. A professional electrician has confirmed that such pieces can be safely rewired or adapted for use in different regions.
