Designed by Laura Kirar, this playfully theatrical lamp celebrates natural materials and timeless design. Crafted from rope woven into palm-inspired forms, the piece recalls the elegance of the 1930s along the coastal south of France. Much like its companions—the Mar floor lamp, pendant, and chandelier—this design pays homage to the casually curated interiors of the Mediterranean. Kirar’s vision draws on a rich blend of influences: aged formal furniture, tropical and pine greenery, and a passion for exotic artistry ranging from carved Spanish vargueños to primitive African sculpture.
The lamp features a natural rope and lampakanay composition supported by an iron frame, with antique brass accents that elevate its warm, organic aesthetic. Its generous proportions include a wide shade (bottom dia: 48.26 cm, side height: 45.72 cm) and a tall overall form (H: 165.1 cm, Dia: 50.8 cm), offering both sculptural presence and practical illumination. Each piece is unique, with finishes that will vary, underscoring its artisanal character.
