About the Item
Maurizio Peregalli for ZeusNoto “Starcube” dimmable floor lamp, Italy, 1998
A striking and sculptural “Starcube” floor lamp, designed in 1998 by Maurizio Peregalli and produced by ZeusNoto, Milan. This rare large-format example embodies the rigorous minimalism and architectural clarity for which Peregalli is internationally renowned.
The lamp features a precisely constructed gunmetal-colored iron frame, elevating a perfectly proportioned cube-shaped volume. The light source is enclosed within an opaline acrylic resin diffuser, which emits a warm, even glow while maintaining a strong geometric presence. When illuminated, the lamp transforms into a luminous architectural object; when off, it reads as a refined industrial sculpture.
Equipped with a dimmer, the Starcube allows for subtle modulation of light intensity, making it equally suited for ambient lighting or as a dramatic statement piece in a contemporary interior. Its bold scale and clean lines make it ideal for modern, minimalist, industrial, or gallery-like settings.
An excellent example of late-20th-century Italian design, combining functional lighting with sculptural form.
