About the Item

Memphis style handmade ceramic floor lamp, Italy, 1980s. Made by hand by joining various ceramic elements used in high voltage electrical towers as cable insulators. Different types of black and white ceramic insulators have been used, joined with glue cement and a central metal stem, creating a sculptural and geometric structure totally Memphis and Post-Modern style, with a certain brutalist air. Unknown author. Very much in the style of the creations and designs of Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, Peter Shire, Shiro Kuramata, Sowden and Du Pasquier. Its design also reminds us of the well-known Shogun lamp by Artemide, designed by Mario Botta from 1986. For one E27 bulb (compatible with E26 bulbs). Renewed electrical installation with new wiring and original lampholder. LED compatible. Little wear on the ceramic elements and on the metal upper part. Some plush has been added under de piece to stabilize and straighten the lamp. Lampshade not includded. The measurements are without the lampshade. Note: We always try to the fullest to respect and preserve as much as possible all the original elements of each piece (wiring, lampshade, finishes...) so as not to alter the original aesthetics and so that they can continue to have another life with their intact soul. That is why sometimes certain elements can present wear and tear, but they are part of the life of each piece, always providing a very pleasant patina.
