About the Item
The Uomo della Luce XXL (Outdoor) is a striking extension of Fil de Fer, one of Enzo Catellani’s most iconic and beloved creations. Fil de Fer—an intricate sphere made of hand-woven aluminum wire illuminated from within by tiny lamps—was born nearly twenty years ago from a custom commission. Though initially rejected, the prototype remained in Catellani’s workshop, where its magical glow continued to captivate everyone who saw it. Over time, Catellani refined and perfected it, ultimately turning it into the most emblematic piece of the Catellani
Smith collection.
The outdoor version, Uomo della Luce XXL, combines this luminous sphere with a sculptural iron figure, creating an evocative and poetic presence that transforms outdoor spaces with light, shadow, and emotion.
