About the Item

Elegant and Timeless Pair of French Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical wrought iron floor lamps with parchment paper shades. The standing lamps have unique cross form design support system to hold the shades and this is mirrored by the bases with each iron base designed in a classic X / cross form pattern. Their spare appearance reflects their modernity and X form design ties them to classical tradition going back to Ancient Rome. And, in this sense, they mirror their creator who was a Modernist but always rooted in neoclassical tradition. They are patinated black. Shades are made of parchment paper and are approximately 14" diameter x 11" height.
